Toshi Kato has worked hard over the years with the goal of becoming America’s number one barrel taiko maker. He has been generous in talking with us and helping us with ideas to address mistakes we have made. We discovered that he learned drum making in Stockton at our Temple in the 1990’s. Now it is coming full circle for us to be able to talk with him and learn some tips he has shared with us. He celebrated 10 years in business at the 2015 North American Taiko Conference where we got this beautiful memento from him.
